Axera Wins “Innovative CMS Chip Solution of the Year”

On August 30 and 31, 2023, the GaoGong Intelligent Automotive Software and Network Security Forum and the 15th Cockpit Interconnection Developer Conference, was successfully held in Shanghai. During the event, the “2023 GaoGong Intelligent Automotive Industry Awards” were announced. Axera received the prestigious “Innovative CMS Chip Solution of the Year”. Additionally, Axera had the honor of presenting the award for “CMS System Supplier of the Year” to the winning company. Huiwei Huang, Marketing Director of Axera, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech titled “Axera AI-ISP Boosts CMS Development.”

As automotive advances towards automation and intelligence, CMS (Camera Monitoring System) is poised to enhance the driving experience, emerging as a fiercely contested arena within the automotive electronics industry. According to projections from the GaoGong Intelligent Automotive Research Institute, by 2025, the demand for front-mounted CMS in the Chinese passenger vehicle market alone could exceed a million units per year, including optional installations. The recent implementation of the new regulation GB15084-2022 for CMS on July 1, 2023 is expected to expedite its adoption in the market. Despite this, the CMS sector is still in its early stages, facing strict regulations and complex development processes. Meanwhile, the hardware and software components of these systems are constantly evolving and improving.

During his presentation, Huang emphasized that in the future, driven by factors like user habits, cost reductions, and energy-saving policies, the installation rate of CMS will gradually rise. The current challenges facing CMS are multifaceted, involving security and reliability, user experience, and supply chain management. Ensuring the security and reliability of both chips and systems is crucial. Simultaneously, improving factors such as startup times, image delays, quality, and field of view adjustments can significantly enhance user experience. Moreover, establishing a consistent and reliable supply chain is vital. These areas are critical to the success of SoC solutions within the CMS market.

Huiwei Huang, Marketing Director of Axera, delivers a keynote speech.
