On May 29, 2024, XMOTIVE, the automotive chip brand of AI chip innovator Axera, announced a strategic partnership with GAC Aion to advance a series of smart driving initiatives. GAC Aion is set to incorporate XMOTIVE’s high-performance ADAS chip, the M55H, into its smart driving systems. The implementation of this advanced chip technology is planned for several upcoming car models, with mass production of the initial collaborative model scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2024.

XMOTIVE’s M55H, a pioneering smart driving chip from Axera’s automotive division, has rapidly set a new industry standard by becoming the fastest smart driving chip to achieve mass production. Leveraging Axera’s formidable expertise in AI chip research and development coupled with its proven mass production capabilities, the M55H incorporates two proprietary technologies: the Axera Proton AI-ISP for advanced image processing and the Axera Neutron AI processor , a hybrid precision NPU. These innovations have propelled the M55H to exceptional performance heights. In 2023, the chip was featured in two widely acclaimed car models, leading to its top-ranking shipment volumes in China’s domestic smart driving chip market.

The M55H chip delivers 8 TOPS of computing power and is distinguished by its low power consumption, cost-effectiveness, maturity, reliability, safety, and user-friendliness. It is versatile enough for a range of application scenarios, including ADAS front-view all-in-one solutions, CMS (Camera Monitor Systems), DMS (Driver Monitoring Systems), and OMS (Occupant Monitoring Systems).
