Axera Founder at 2024 WAIC: AI Processors Are Propelling the Commercial Flywheel of Large Models
From July 4 to 7, 2024, the World Artificial Intelligence Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance (2024 WAIC) took place in Shanghai. At the conference, Axera presented its latest innovations at a booth themed “Mimicking Human Perception with Large Models: Advancing Edge and Terminal Intelligence for Universal AI Access.” The company exhibited an array of pioneering products, including its system-on-chips (SoCs), leading-edge solutions, and AI models. In partnership with the WAIC organizing committee, Axera spearheaded the “Leading the Future with Chips: Forum on Intelligent Chips and Large Multimodal Models,” where it unveiled its new Axera Neutron AI Processor to the market.
Dr. Xiaoxin Qiu, Founder and Chairperson of Axera, during an on-site interview with Xinhua News Agency, highlighted the company’s latest advancements in intelligent edge and terminal applications. She also discussed the roll-out of large language models (LMMs) and shared her perspectives on their current implementation. Dr. Qiu emphasized that in the context of accelerating cloud-edge-terminal integration, pursuing economical, efficient, and environmentally sustainable practices is crucial for becoming smarter. She underscored the powerful synergy between AI chips and large models, dubbing them the “golden duo.” Dr. Qiu also noted that in today’s AI-driven era, AI processors play a pivotal role in propelling the commercial flywheel of large models.
