Axera's AX620E and AX650 Series Chips Achieve Security Certification from PSA Certified
In the age of the Internet of Everything (IoE), security has become a fundamental requirement in the design and deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Recently, Axera announced that its AX620E and AX650 series chips, including the AX630C, AX620Q, AX650A, and AX650N, have received the esteemed PSA Certified Level 1 security certification. This milestone demonstrates the series’ adherence to internationally recognized security standards, meeting the market’s demand for trustworthy products.
PSA Certified is an IoT security framework and certification initiative established to expedite collaborative efforts across industries, a necessity for unlocking the full potential of IoT. This project was initiated by seven founding entities, including Arm, in conjunction with independent security testing laboratories and advisory bodies like SGS Brightsight, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), Riscure, UL Prove & Run, and TrustCB. Its aim is to standardize the security and authenticity of IoT chips, software, and devices, enabling the large-scale deployment of secure IoT solutions based on the PSA Certified framework. By establishing a shared benchmark, the initiative aims to amalgamate the collective capabilities of the ecosystem.
Based on its certification details, the AX620E series is a high-performance AI vision processor tailored for IPC and diverse intelligent vision applications. It sets the industry standard in image quality, intelligent processing capabilities, and analysis functionalities. The AX620E series chips are equipped with a dual-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor and integrate the next-generation Axera Zhimou 4.0 AI-ISP, supporting up to 4K@30fps real-time black-light performance. Additionally, the AX620E series chips integrate the next-generation Axera Tongyuan 4.0 NPU engine, which supports mixed precision and various mainstream deep learning frameworks.
The AX650 series from Axera are powerful, efficient SoCs integrating an octa-core Cortex-A55 CPU and a capable mixed precision NPU that delivers up to 72.0 TOPs at INT4 or 18.0 TOPs at INT8. These chips support 8K@30fps AI-ISP and enhance image quality through noise elimination, pixel correction, vignetting adjustment, image enhancement, digital dehazing, and fisheye image rectification.
Additionally, the AX620E and AX650 series, which have achieved PSA Certified Level 1 certification, boast robust security subsystems. They support the Arm TrustZone technology, firewall access control, hardware encryption accelerators, secure OTP, and secure boot. These features help overcome various security threats during deployment and effectively address potential risks.
Wynne Wu, Vice President of Product of Axera’s Smart IoT BU, noted: “The PSA Certified Level 1 stamp on the AX620E and AX650 series shows that Axera knows how to make products that meet strict global security standards. It proves we’re serious about keeping IoT devices safe. Moving forward, you can count on Axera to keep providing top-notch, secure, and reliable chips, making sure the IoT industry stays on the right track.”
David Maidment, Senior Director of Market Strategy at Arm, stated: “As edge AI technology progresses rapidly, the importance of security for connected devices in businesses will only rise.
